Prima Printery DT Project

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to stop by real quick to show you what I designed for my LSS for the month of September. I fell in love with the new Prima Printery line that just came out and all it's awesome fixings. It's such a beautiful collection that I was super psyched to work with it!!! I created an altered canvas piece as well as a card using all the new Prima goodies!!! Of course, with the exception of some I AM ROSES flowers and the stamped sentiment...

LOOOVE IT!!

I was also challenged to alter a 15" by 18" canvas piece using the Prima Printery 6x6 paper pad, and this is what I came up with!

I chose 6 papers from the collection and adhered them side by side to create one long strip to go across the canvas along the top and the bottom. To finish it off, I covered the middle with some thick lace! :) Here are some more close up shots of my canvas piece.

Scrap Ingredients:
-Prima Printery 6x6 Paper Pad
-Prima chipboard pieces
-Prima resistant canvas
-Prima trim
-Maya Road brown rosette trim
-TH dress form die cut
-I Am Roses flowers
-Prima say it in crystals

All the details on this project will be posted on my YouTube channel soon so come by and check it out!!

Happy Scrapping!

Great News!!!

Hey everyone!! I know I have been lazy with my blog all summer longgggg....BUT I just had to share some really exciting news!! I have been invited to design for my Local Scrapbooking Store!! It's definitely a new venture for me, and I am super thrilled to be a part of an amazing design team over there. I look forward to sharing and creating with them!!

My first design team project was made for August. I was given a really outdated wooden jewelry box to alter that was found at Value Village for super cheap. And let me tell you, it was just screaming to get made-over. It had this really bright red velvet lining on the inside with these plastic notches to hold things in. I couldn't wait to get started! I wish I had taken a picture of the before, but I just hadn't thought that far ahead at the time LOL :p

I had to sand the box down, then primed it with some gesso and painted the whole thing in "country maple" colored acrylic paint.
The Box was 14" x 12" and the paper I used for this project was Webster's Pages Country Estate, as well as some stickers - turned into chipboard pieces - from the same collection.

I took some alphabet diecuts from the G45 Times Nouveau collection and used glossy accents to accent the diecuts and adhered them with dimensionals and added black pearl trim above it to look like a necklace.

I lined the inside of the box with black satin fabric and used some cream colored pearl trim. I also adhered some more of the Webster's Pages paper.

I wanted to make a mini to put inside the box, so I pulled out my brand new Bind-It-All and created a small 6 page Gatefold Mini Album.
To keep with the theme of the box, I used the rest of the Webster's Pages Country Estate collection to create this mini album with. I LOVE this paper!!!

Here are some pictures of the inside pages of this album.

Happy scrapping!!!

My Cigar Box Swap for June

Hey Hey Hey!! Happy Canada Day to all the Canadians out there!!! As promised, here are the pictures of my box I altered for Jade's cigar box swap. The theme was "sewing box" and the color challenge was MOD retro-chic. Also, there was an additional challenge of a pincushion to create!! So here are some pictures of what I created for my squirrely sister!!!!! I hope she likes it!

Here is the pincushion I created with my sewing machine!! I went with different fabrics that match the theme of the box. I cut each fabric into 2-1/2" squares and patched them together with my sewing machine to create one whole square. I used a teal satin material cut roughly the same size as the top and sewed it together. I stuffed it with cotton batting and voila!! A simple pincushion! I actually never used my sewing machine since I got it for christmas, so this was an addicting but fun project. I hope you will try it as well!

I promise!!! In the meantime, I am currently uploading my video of the cigar box on my youtube channel! So feel free to stop by here! :)

My Bestie's Birthday Card

Hey scrappy friends!! I wanted to show you a card I created for my best friends birthday!! We had such a blast that day! Her family invited me to tag along to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Holy smokes, it was so fun! The restaurant was so beautiful. It had that really old fashioned feel to it. From the victorian portraits hung on their brick wall, to the old fashion wine cellar locked behind wrought iron gates right in the private room we were in. There was also an antique cash register in the corner with some more antique memorabilia's from the 1900's. Their menus also had some vintage ephemera printed on them. Oh, and did I forget to mention the food?! Uhh, can anyone say yummilicious??? LOL! Anyways, I thought I'd show you the card I put together for her.

The card is A2 in size, and the base is made from kraft cardstock. (my absolute fav!!) The DSP used here is from the My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose collection, Gertie. Love it!! I used The Greeting Farm stamp from the Naughty or Nice stamp set and used some Copics, and atyou spica glitter pen to color her in. I also used Diamond Dust on her wings. Added some yummy prima lace in the background, some black recollections bling, and some more Prima flowers in the corner. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts cling stamp I purchased at Michaels, which is stamped on some kraft cardstock and cut it out.
Take a peek at some closeup shots...

Isn't she so pretty?? I really really heart Greeting Farm stamps.

 Thanks for stopping by!!!

May 2011 Tag Swap

Happy Saturday, Scrappers and Crafters alike!! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!! Ok, so I was super busy creating this week eager to make my deadline. I impulsively joined Carlene's, (who's pinkscrapper99 on YT) May tag swap. We were to incorporate a doily of some sort onto our tag. It could be a stamped image of a doily, a crocheted one, or anything that is doily-like. I only had the paper ones that you can purchase anywhere and this is what I finished with.

I was inspired by this quote that I found on one of the Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers and the rest was history. :)
For more information and products used on this tag, come and check out my YouTube channel here!! YAY!

This is my first Tag Swap that I've participated in and it was sooo much fun!! I've joined quite a few swaps just in the last month and a half and hello, that is alot for me! I enjoyed every one of them and I definitely look forward to joining more swaps!! I hope to see you soon on one of em! LOL.

Happy scrapping!

"What's In Your Vintage Purse" Swap Chabby Chic Style

TGIF!! Lol! Bona who is LiveLoveScrap on YT recently hosted a really fun swap called "What's in your vintage purse?" swap. We had to alter one of those wooden purses you can find at Michaels vintage shabby chic style and then make 10 handmade items to go with your purse! It was a super challenging project for me but crazy fun nonetheless! Here are some pics of what I created for my swap parter, Gina ( Hi Gina! *waves*) who is scrappinology on YT. I really hope she likes it!! :)
I started off painting the box with tan acrylic paint, then went over the entire thing with crackle medium then painted over that with vintage white acrylic paints. This crackle technique is really one of my absolute favs!! Then to get more of a shabby chic look, I distress the edges of the box with walnut stain distress ink. LOVE IT.

I love love love the Recollections flowers that come in that glass jar!! They are soo beautiful and so easy to encorporate into any project. Take a look at that gorgeous flower! So shabby chic! I embellished it with a Tim Holtz muse token, some baby roses, pearl trim and black skeleton leaves I found at my LSS. What I forgot to include in the picture is the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment with perfect medium then used perfect pearls in perfect gold. It's like magic when you brush some of the perfect pearls onto your stamped image. The sentiment says "find beauty in all things".

If you don't already know, I am a HUGE FAN of Graphic 45 papers. LOVE THEM! I did some fussy cutting of some vintage ladies from the Domestic Goddess collection. which works perfect with the theme of this swap. Check out that paper doily in the background! It looks so vintage. I sprayed it with some homemade mist then distressed it with walnut stain distress ink. Added some black lace on the top corners and glued on some baby roses and a cute vintage button.

Funny thing is, the actual handle of this box broke off in the middle of painting it so I made my own as a fix. I used some thick wire I got from Dollarama, and some black glass Crystazzi beads from Michaels. I secured the ends to the place where the original handle was and ta-da! I was surprised at how well it turned out.

I finished off the inside of the box with some black lace that is also a pocket and some white scalloped lace from Dollarama. I also glued on some thin satin ribbon to the insides of the box so when you open the lid, it would hold itself up. :)

Here are pictures of what I created to put inside the purse.

-handmade flower using light gold satin ribbon, some black lace, pearl trim and a vintage button
-an altered dressform I got at Dollarama (gotta love Dollarama!) which also comes with a stand BTW. I modpodged some light purple tissue paper all over the dress form , used white gathered lace for the skirt, added a bbutterfly punch by Martha Stewart, added a baby rose, some sheer black ribbon and pearl trim for the belt.
-a recycled Recollections bottle which I altered with caramel and latte alcohol inks, some brown lace, baby roses, bling and butterfly punch.
-a pocket tag using DSP from K&Co. Cut N' Paste collection

-a homemade chalkboard using chalkboard paper (which I found @ Dollarama) adhered onto light weight chipboard. Then cut out with Tim Holtz Ornamental Die.
-a hanging frame made from G45 scraps. I used a scalloped circle made out of cork (also @ Dollarama) for the base. The actual frame is from the Sizzix Die, called "Stamps and Frame" my favorite! Added a prima flower and recollections flower to embellish. I also used some white lace and jute twine as the hanger holder thingie. LOL. ;P
-a small 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 canvase piece with Gina's inital "G" on it.
-a toilet paper roll mini book. Haha in this case it's a mini-mini book since it has only like 3 pages. LOL it has to fit in the box so I had to restrain myself because I wanted to embellish that thing like crazy. The DSP I used is Prima's Botanical Collection. SOOO pretty!!!
-a post-it note holder using DCWV's Mariposa paper stack. The closure is a Recollections pearl brad and some jute twine.
-and finally, I made some stick pins using glass pearl beads from Michaels and some baby roses.

Wow, that was long typing that up! Hehe.
I hope Gina likes it!!!!!!!
Okay, that is all I'm going to be posting for this Long Weekend!! Thanks everyone for stopping by! Have a Fabulous Long Weekend!

-Hugs,
Hazelle

Sympathy Card

Here is a quick card I had put together a few weeks ago for a dear friend of mine.
The card is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2" and the card base is ivory cardstock. The DSP I used is from K&Co. Julianne collection. I love the use of the brown with subtle colors like soft pinks and creams.

I cut out 2 different sized circles and cut around the edge with my decorative scissors to create a mat for the sentiment and embellishments. The stamped sentiment is by Stampendous "Orchid Greetings". I embellished the card with Martha Stewart butterfly punches, some Recollections flowers and Bling. I also used light golden satin ribbon from Michaels and some white scalloped lace to line the ribbon across the card. I wanted this card to be big enough so everyone at my workplace can express their sympathies.

XOXO,

My Super Secret Cigar Box Has Arrived!!!

Ugh! I wanted to upload the video I made when I received my Super Secret Cigar Box from my swap partner and for some reason, I lost like half of the first part of the video!!! waah. So I will have to post it here. (bummer.) Anyways, as I posted earlier, I participated in Jadedstudios "Super Secret Squirrel Cigar Box Swap", and it turns out, my secret swap partner is Angela from Montreal! I am sorry, I could not seem to find a link to her anywhere! But her name is Angela and she made this beautiful creation! She had said on her card that she took the time to watch the little youtube vids that I have, to get to know my style and what I like, and I just wanted to put it out there that I do really appreciate her taking the time to get to know me and whatnot!! So thank you so much Angela!!

I absolutely loooveee my box! I heart everything! The paper, the butterflies and I have to say, the flowers are GORGEOUS in person! So shimmery and I love pink. ;)
